In 2026 we will host a challenging group ride over 100 nautical miles for cycling enthusiasts from the wider marine/offshore/energy industry in the North of Germany – the Road Sailing Club 100.

What is the idea of the Road Sailing Club 100 challenge and who is behind it?
We are cycling enthusiasts and work in the German offshore wind industry since the early pioneering days. Over time, we met many people in our industry who share a passion for cycling, and we often concluded that we should ride together one day. Therefore, we are now founding the tradition of the annual Road Sailing Club 100 challenge to enjoy a day of cycling and chatting. Every year, we will start from a different location, discovering a new scenic route. This is a private initiative, with no company or marketing department behind it.

Is it a race?
It is not about speed and competition, but about a group challenge and companionship. There will be no ranking, and everyone who made it to the finish line is a winner. Following the core principles of seamenship, we will not leave anyone behind.

Do I need to be a pro to attend?
First and foremost, you need to love cycling. Whether you come with your aero carbon runner or your gravel bike, you are welcome. We are confident there will be enough riders of different levels to find companions who match your pace. We recommend that you have already completed a 100 km ride before.

Will there be food and drinks on the road?
It is an unsupported event, so riders need to organize food and drinks themselves. However, there will be many checkpoints along the route where you can buy cake, candy, and Coke. Checkpoints are the perfect chance to refuel, connect with fellow riders, and share the ride together.

When and where is the Road Sailing Club 100 going to happen?
The first Road Sailing Club 100 challenge will take place on Saturday, the 9th of May 2026 in Hamburg. You will receive the final route via Komoot and as a GPS track file a few days before the start.
